Starting out When you first log on to Cute FTP, you will find yourself in the FTP site manager. The easiest way to connect to your server for the first time is to use the Connection Wizard, which will pop up when you open the program. 1. Choose your ISP - This actually means your web host(Redglue), not your dialup connection. Select "other." 2. Enter a label - Use something easy to remember, such as your domain or username. 3. FTP Host Address - www.YOURDOMAIN 4. Username and password - Enter your Redglue username and password. Do not check "Anonymous login." 5. Default local directory - this is the directory on your computer where your files are kept, e.g. C:\mystuff. 6.Additional options - you can choose to connect automatically when you open the program, and/or add the site to your right click mouse menu. Uploading The left frame shows the files on your computer; the right those on your server. To upload, simply click on a file on the left and drag it into the panel on the right. You can hold down the shift key to select multiple files to upload. |
